I discovered this bridge late at night, at the bottom of an old winding road down the side of a canyon. I wasn't quite sure where I was going. I was just exploring and looking for photo opportunities in the dark. For myself, the thing that makes this shot interesting is the mystery. What's on the other side of the bridge? We don't know. This is very much what it is like on a night shooting road trip. You're not always sure where you are and you don't know exactly where you are going. None of that matters though because the whole point is to spot interesting subjects to photograph, and that can happen anywhere. However, like the bridge, so much is out of view in the darkness and there is always that nagging sense that you might be driving right by a great night shooting location. If only you could see what's out there a little better...
