Abandoned School
Bateman, Saskatchewan

This was the third school I photographed on this road trip. Unlike the others which were both one room schoolhouses, the school at Bateman is a rather impressive brick building. Too bad nobody lives here anymore. The original structure was built in the 1920's with a substantial addition to the right of this shot which is much more recent. 1960's Perhaps?

An interesting thing is happening here. This school is disappearing. Bit by bit, pieces are vanishing throughout the structure. Note the chunk missing near the top of the left inside corner. An entire wall is missing from the newer wing to the right. This original part of the school remains much more intact.
