Northern Lights are reasonably common around here but they rarely occur in colors other than green or blue. This is the first time I had ever seen them in red. Thank goodness the Starving Artist Van was already loaded with gear and ready to roll that night. These nocturnal light shows sometimes last only a few minutes.
