Here is a closer view of this old military power plant on the outskirts of Edmonton, Alberta. Adding the colored lighting effects to this shot was particularly challenging since I had to enter the building from the opposite side and navigate the interior in complete darkness to access the locations from which I wanted to light paint. The brightness of a time exposure like this is somewhat deceptive. In reality it is much darker out there. In order to complete my light painting before the shot overexposed, I had to memorize and count steps through the building and around hazards. With a camera outside completing the exposure, using a flashlight was out of the question.
