In comparing this picture to Hoodoos #2 you probably noticed that they are exactly the same shot. While Hoodoos #2 was lit with strobes, this photo was light painted using narrow beams of colored light from a tightly focused flashlight. The effects are very different, with the strobes accenting the texture of the rock and the colored flashlight beam creating a softer but more saturated, almost neon-like effect.
